SUMMARY:16th December Victory Day
DESCRIPTION:Victory day (Bengali: বিজয় দিবস Bijôy Dibôs) is a national holiday in Bangladesh celebrated on December 16 to commemorate the victory of the Allied forces High Command over the Pakistani forces in the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. The Commanding officer of the Pakistani Forces General AAK Niazi surrendered with his forces to the Allied forces commander Lt. Gen. Jagjit Singh Aurora\, which marked ending the 9 month-long[1] Bangladesh Liberation War and 1971 Bangladesh genocide and officially secession of East Pakistan into Bangladesh. Today is National Victory Day. The 43rd anniversary of victory earned through sacrifice of enormous bloodshed. The day of emergence of Bangladesh as an independent sovereign state to this world. After a long 9 month of armed struggle\, sacrificing a lot of lives and huge bloodshed\, valiant Bengalis claimed the victory on this very day. After oppressing the freedom seeking of this land the Pakistani attacking force surrendered to the people on this very day. With this surrender of the Pakistani forces it came to an end of a two and a half decades of exploitation and deprivation of the Pakistanis. The nation got free from persecution and oppression. Everyone is now analyzing the gains and expectations of the 43 years spent after independence. In this 43rd anniversary of Victory the departed souls of the freedom fighters having peace – the heinous war criminals gradually being punished. The whole nation will commemorate the millions of martyrs who sacrificed themselves with utmost homage and love. For the supreme sacrifices of these great souls we got an independent and sovereign Bangladesh. At the same time strong commitment will be expressed to make Bangladesh a prosperous future oriented one. To observe the occasion many programs would be celebrated by the government and non-government initiatives. All government and non-government institutions will hoist the National flag today. SUMMARY:Independence Day Celebrations
DESCRIPTION:The Independence Day of Bangladesh is celebrated every year on March 26. It is the national holiday of Bangladesh that commemorates the country’s independence from Pakistan in 1971. On the morning of March 26\, 1971\, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared Bangladesh’s independence from Pakistan\, which were known at the time as East Pakistan and West Pakistan\, respectively. The day is characterized by parades\, speeches\, fairs\, and ceremonial events to commemorate that historic day in 1971. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHISTORY OF INDEPENDENCE DAY OF BANGLADESH\nDuring the Partition of India on August 14\, 1947\, Pakistan gained independence from Britain and became separated from India. After this\, the area now known as Bangladesh was referred to as East Bengal but later called East Pakistan. \nHowever\, in 1970\, the country was led by President Yahya Khan\, from the minority West Pakistan region. After the general elections\, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman\, who was from East Pakistan (Bangladesh)\, won the elections. The government refused to hand over power to Rahman. \nThis led to a demand for independence by the people of East Pakistan. The East Pakistan government began arresting army personnel who were from East Pakistan\, leading to forced disappearances. On the night of March 25\, 1971\, the Pakistan Army declared “Operation Searchlight\,” a military operation that was essentially Bengali genocide\, leading to approximately 3\,000\,000 Bengalis being killed indiscriminately. \nFinally\, on the morning of March 26\, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared the independence of East Pakistan from West Pakistan. Unfortunately\, the story didn’t end there. For nine months following that day\, a liberation war raged between both regions\, leading to many people dying. The war\, which became known as the “Bangladesh War of Independence\,” finally came to an end on December 16\, 1971. Pakistan finally surrendered. \nIn Bangladesh\, independence celebrations are characterized by parades\, speeches\, fairs\, and ceremonial events designed to commemorate the country’s liberation. On the morning of the day\, a thirty-one gun salute is shot.
